Palo Verde Community College District’s Workforce Preparation programs are designed to help adults gain practical, job-ready skills that lead directly to employment or career advancement. Culinary Arts–
Needles Adult Education Center
The Culinary Arts Program, offered by the Needles Unified School District Adult Education Center, is a free workforce preparation program for adults 18 years of age and older in Needles, California. This hands-on program introduces students to essential kitchen skills, food preparation techniques, and workplace safety used in real culinary settings.
This program is ideal for individuals interested in becoming a chef, entering the food service or hospitality industry, or building practical, job-ready skills. Students learn in a supportive environment designed to build confidence, develop real-world experience, and prepare for employment in culinary-related careers.

Automotive Program – Needles Adult Education Center
The Automotive Program, offered by the Needles Unified School District Adult Education Center, is a free workforce preparation program for adults 18 years of age and older in Needles, California. This hands-on program focuses on building practical automotive skills used in real shop environments, including basic maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
The program is designed for individuals interested in working in the automotive industry, pursuing entry-level technician roles, or developing mechanical skills that can lead to employment or further training. Paraeducator Preparation – Palo Verde Community College District
Description
This course will help prepare students interested in a career in education, either teachers or support staff. Students will gain an understanding of how to promote positive school culture by supporting the social and emotional development of learners, and by helping to develop a sense of self as a valued and responsible member of the community. Students will also learn to use computers in the classroom and support environments, learn basic mathematical computations and techniques to support first-time learners of math, and will gain knowledge and ability to use CPR and first aid to help ensure the safety of the learning community. Pass / No Pass for Non-credit.
The Paraeducator Preparation program, offered through the Palo Verde Community College District Noncredit Program, is designed for adults interested in working in K–12 classrooms and educational support roles. This program prepares students with foundational skills needed to support teachers, assist students, and succeed in school-based environments.
Students develop practical skills in child development, classroom behavior support, academic skill reinforcement, and basic computer and communication skills. The program also supports individuals pursuing employment as paraeducators by aligning coursework with district expectations and workforce needs.
Completion of the required coursework leads toward a Child Care Certification of Completion, and a passing grade may eliminate testing requirements for employment as a paraeducator with Palo Verde Unified School District.
This noncredit program is tuition free and designed to support adults balancing work, family, and career goals.
